Croatia is a country that has faced turbulent times with resilience. Its economic recovery has been aided by tourism and Croatia holidays are popular for many reasons. Food and wine is of the highest quality and local dishes include strudel, custard slices in pastry and cottage cheese with cream. Specialist seafood restaurants are plentiful along the coast.

The main airports into the country are at Zagreb, Pula, Split, Dubrovnik and Rijeka. Visitors from abroad are not usually required to have an entry visa. Tourists can feel safe in Croatia, as there is a low level of street crime.
