Knee Socks

Knee socks are great when you work in the cold, but don’t wear them if you have shorts on. A lot of men make this mistake and it is enough to drive the woman in their life batty. We really don’t care, and we secretly love that you have a dorky side, but we don’t want to see you do it when you are out in public with us. Save them for inside and when you are protecting your legs while mowing the lawn (and even then, there's got to be a better way!). Oh, and please, take them off before you come to bed. We don’t want a dork in bed.

Perhaps the reason men wear knee socks when they aren’t supposed to is because they are so comfortable. Well, they are if you have the right brand and the right size. When shopping for knee socks, you want to spend a little more for something that is known to come from a quality company. If you buy cheap socks, they are going to lose their shape and elasticity rather quickly, and you will find they keep sliding down your leg. This is enough to drive the sanest person over the edge.

Knee socks may be comfortable; you should never wear them or any other type of sock with sandals. Don’t do it. If it is too cold for sandals, wear some other type of footwear. Adding knee socks is not the answer I don’t care who told you it was acceptable. All those people staring at you are not in awe of your fashion style, at least not in the way you are probably thinking. Think of these socks as something that should be enjoyed but never seen. If you follow that rule, you will be OK.

Though knee socks are often something most men get for Christmas, don’t get them for the man you love unless you want them wearing them. Not all men are good with fashion, and if you give them something, they’ll wear it. My husband is a good-looking guy, but if you give him something, he’ll wear it and in most cases, he shouldn’t be. He dresses OK, but it is usually because I have helped him pick out what he owns. I am careful to always compliment the good stuff so much that he starts to choose that over all else. I can’t stop people from giving him knee socks, so I just steal them and wear them around the house on cold days. He can’t wear them if he can’t find them, right?
