When it comes to foreigners crossing our borders illegally, you will often here varying opinions. Some folks will rant about how we need stricter border patrol and stronger punishments for those who sneak in, while others may say that it's only natural, and everyone has a right to live in the USA. Personally I feel a bit torn when it comes to immigration and naturalization. At this point it seems like our country is over-crowded as is. Do we really want hundreds more crossing in every day? Unfortunately this is not a black and white issue.

I know at least a dozen men who reside in this country illegally. Then I also know several more foreigners who are more hip to the immigration and naturalization process. They have acquired the necessary papers, green cards and acceptances. For them, that's just the way the process works. However, for the dozen men who came to this great country illegally, they could care less about our laws. This is the part that bothers me. Now, if your country is a barbaric wasteland, I can certainly understand wanting to flee it for a better place, hence a higher quality of living. But, don't disregard our laws simply because you despise your homeland. The men I know are originally from Mexico. They snuck into this country back in the 90s. When I first spoke with them about immigration and naturalization, they told me flat out that they ditched their country in order to make more money for their families and send it back home to Mexico. Hmm, does this sound right? This means less American citizens will have jobs and a lot of our capital is being sent out of our country. Unfortunately they claim that they have no worries or regrets regarding the health of our country and economy.

What would you do? What if you knew one or several individuals who were living in the states illegally, but committing no real crimes against others? Even though they failed to comply with immigration and naturalization laws, they are hardly noticed in our large society. This is a question we should all ask ourselves. Should we sit by and allow them to reap the benefits of our great nation, while damaging our economy in the process, or should be deport them? Either way, the issue touchy.
