Hand Cream

Hand cream seems to be such a simple thing, but in my house it never is. There are at least six different kinds in my bathroom, and I’m sure most of them will never be used. My husband has a job that requires him to be outside, and many times he cannot wear gloves. They get cracked and dry in the winter, and they aren’t really any better in the summer. He has to use a lot of hand cream, and I like to use it myself. The problem is that we can’t seem to find one that we both like, and that will work every single time.

The basics of hand cream are all the same, so that’s why I don’t understand why some work sometimes, others work other times, and some don’t work at all. We have a tube of hand cream that we bought for ten dollars and it does not work at all, and there was no way to return it. That is a lot of money to spend on a lotion that does not work. On the other side of the spectrum, I once bought a tube for a dollar that worked like a dream, but we were never able to find the same kind again.

Those we have work to some degree, but they go fast, and it can get expensive. If you need hand cream though, you have to buy it, or suffer with dry and itchy skin. The problem is even worse when my daughter decides she wants to use some of it. I don’t even want to tell her that she can’t, but she has many times emptied half of the tube on her hands and then smeared it all over my bathroom and down the stairs. It wasn’t fun to clean up.

The best way to go about choosing a hand cream is to get samples first if you can. That way you can try something first, especially the expensive types of hand cream, before you spend a lot of money on something that may or may not work. It’s very frustrating to go out and spend a lot of money on different products when they never seem to live up to the expectations you have, and they don’t work as advertised. Though hand cream is only one item, when you add shampoos, conditioners, face creams, soaps, and other hygiene products to the list, it can get very expensive indeed.
