Aftershave For Men

There are some men who no longer use aftershave for men. They simply shave and then wear cologne. Some men have sensitive skin and have a special aftershave that really doesn’t have a fragrance to it. There are others though, that still like to wear the scented type, and they skip the cologne all together. It’s a personal decision for most men, and every man is different. Women have different likes and dislikes when it comes to scent and how to wear it, and that same holds true for the more rugged sex.

I like aftershave for men, but I am choosy about what scents I like. My grandfather has worn Old Spice for as long as I can remember, and the smell always reminds me of him. This was a problem before I got married, because if a met a guy wearing the same aftershave for men that my grandfather wore it was an instant turn off. I love and respect my grandfather perhaps more than anyone else in the world, but I certainly don’t want to be reminded of him when sharing a first kiss with a man I might be interested in.

There are more and more different kinds of aftershave for men today, and that makes things a lot easier. I don’t want my husband to smell like my grandfather, my brother or even my boss. Now that there are more scents and more varieties of aftershave for men out there on the market, the less likely this is to happen. Because of the problem with one man smelling like another, my husband often asks me to choose his aftershave so he is sure it doesn’t remind me of any one else.

Humans are attached to fragrance and smells, even if we don’t realize it consciously. Smell is very powerful. If you smell a certain type of aftershave for men on one guy, you will think of him when you smell it elsewhere. Perhaps that is why perfumes and colognes are such big sellers, and why many people like to give aftershave for men as gifts around the holidays. If you have a scent you love and it doesn’t remind you of anyone, it might be a great gift for your husband. Just make sure you don’t get him something you know he won’t like. You may want to give it to him, but if he can’t stand the smell of it, he is never going to want to wear it for you.
